PRINCE CHARLES HELD a historic meeting with Sinn Féin’s Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness in Galway today.
The trio met behind closed doors this afternoon after Adams earlier shook hands with Charles in a symbolic moment for the continuing peace process.
Of course there is more than a bit of international attention on all of this. The Washington Post filed a pretty harmless looking piece teeing up the visit earlier.
That is, of course, until you reach the third paragraph:
Yep, you read that right.
According the esteemed paper (or at least its website), Prince Charles “has always denied he’s a member of the IRA”.
We weren’t actually aware of any accusations that he was in the IRA. But if there were, we’re certain he’d deny it.
For the record, Gerry Adams also denies he is or ever was a member of the IRA.
