Man charged after €130k drugs seizure in Wicklow

A large quantity of cannabis plants were uncovered in Blessington.

A MAN IS DUE in court this morning after gardaí seized cannabis plants valued at €130,000 in Blessington, Co. Wicklow.

The man is his mid-40s was arrested at a house in Rath Na Bó in Blessington after a gardaí searched the premises and found what is described as a large quantity of cannabis plants.

Gardaí say that documentation was also seized during the course of the raid which came as a result of an intelligence gathering operation.

The man that was detained at the scene has been charged on drugs offences. He will appear at a special sitting of Naas District Court at 11.30am this morning.
