Every week we have the same story. If people think our Drugs laws are effective then they are morons. Every County in Ireland must have at least a dozen grow houses each. Here’s my handy guide for the Government forsolving Irelands cannabis problems.

Step 1. Legalise it
Step 2. Tax it in a similar manner to tobacco and Alcohol
Step 3. Regulate it in a similar manner to tobacco and Alcohol.
Step 4. let Doctors proscribe for MS suffers and other sick people
Step 5. Sit back and light up a nice fat one and count all the money the state has made from taxation and saved on Gardai and prison resources

It could be re classed as medicinal and given to the HSE for Parkinson’s sufferers

Every couple of days there is a story like this, how about we export all the stuff the Garda find and use it to pay for stuff we actually need.

I don’t smoke and I don’t really want to, but the stuff is so freely available anyway that these arrests are a meaningless waste of money. Given the actual social impact of the drug (compare to, say, heroin) there isn’t really much of an argument in favour of keeping it criminalised.

Legalise it, tax it and stop wasting Police resources on it.

Seeing all these comments, not a single one agreeing with the seizure, makes me so happy. Make Ireland the new Netherlands!
