Celine Cawley's family action against Eamonn Lillis adjourned
Cawley’s siblings take proceedings over Lillis’s share in properties and bank accounts shared with his wife.
AN ACTION BY THE RELATIVES of Celine Cawley against her husband and killer Eamonn Lillis has been adjourned for three weeks.
Christopher and Susanna Cawley, Celine’s siblings, brought an action on the grounds that Lillis is not worthy to succeed his late wife, according to the Irish Examiner.
In February, RTÉ reported that Lillis, 53, was sentenced to six years and 11 months for the manslaughter of his 46-year-old wife at their Howth home.
If the Cawleys are successful, Lillis’s share in two houses as well as his interest in shared bank accounts and bonds co-owned by him and his wife would be transferred to Celine and Eamonn’s teenage daughter.
Lillis opposes the proceedings, according to the Irish Times.
He had previously consented to being removed as the administrator of his wife’s estate, and Christopher and Susanna Cawley were subsequently appointed as administrators.
