CORK AIRPORT WAS evacuated for matter of minutes this morning after a toaster in a staff canteen set off smoke alarms.
It is understood that a toaster in the Customs area’s canteen set off at least two smoke alarms which forced a mandatory evacuation of the airport.
The evacuation period lasted just ten minutes before the airport was opened again.
No flights were impacted as the source of the smoke was identified and dealt with in a matter of minutes.
The fate of the toast is not known.
