1. #INQUIRY CRISIS: Concerns over access to documents key to the IBRC inquiry were raised as early as August, although the Taoiseach wasn’t informed until two months later, according to the Irish Examiner. Attorney General Máire Whelan is due to brief cabinet this morning on the issue.

2. #FIRE HAZARD: Residents of an apartment block and four businesses in Meath may have to evacuate after concerns were raised over fire safety in the building, the Irish Independent reports.

3. #ATTACKED: A garda was assaulted while attending the scene of a car fire in Cabra, Dublin, earlier this morning. A man in his 30s has been arrested.

4. #IMMIGRATION: US President Barack Obama’s plan to protect from deportation an estimated 5 million people living in the United States illegally have suffered another setback after a court upheld a Texas-based federal judge’s injunction against it, The Associated Press reports.

5. #CARRICKMINES: The young boy who lost both his parents and three siblings in the Carrickmines fire is said to be recovering well, one month on from the tragedy.

6. #STAY HEALTHY: Intensive blood pressure lowering could have significant health benefits, according to a new study, promoting calls for a review of clinical guidelines.

7. #HISTORIC ELECTION: Myanmar opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi said she believes her party has won a parliamentary majority after a historic general election, BBC News reports. Her National League for Democracy has secured 78 of the 88 lower house seats announced so far.

8. #FREE SPEECH: Irish Daily Mail columnist Brenda Power will not be prosecuted over a controversial piece questioning violence within the Travelling community, the paper reports. It was penned following an assault on Olympian John Joe Nevin, and was the subject of complaints to gardaí.

9. #TENANT RIGHTS: The Irish Times reports that under proposals to be discussed by cabinet today, landlords will have to sign a legal declaration if they evict tenants to sell the property, or face fines of €3,000.
