SO WE NOW know the extent of cuts which will be felt across government departments and across society following the announcement in the Dáil today by Brendan Howlin.

The Minister for Public Expenditure Reform said today that as part of €2.2 billion in savings there will be a €1.4 billion reduction in day-to-day spending across government.
