400 million is peanuts compared to the other jobs it would create in tourism, food and drink industry.

There are more pros than cons. Especially considering it would be taking away the bread n butter from real criminals who sell class A drugs.

You are being rather naive. These harmless stoners are actually violent criminals out for profit who switched to growing super potent weed because Septic Tiger’s cubs can’t afford cocaine anymore, or they are trafficked East Asians who live in constant fear and deprivation.

You must be smoking a bit too much yourself. The majority of people who grow weed are not violent criminals. I know a lot of people who grow weed, maybe their operations are slightly smaller than these, but none of them are violent gang members. They grow it to supply themselves and make a bit of money on the side.

Naive for wanting our police to target the production and sale of class A drugs. That are more addictive and destroy more lives every year. No not naive just more concerned with bigger crimes.

More to the point not one person involved in the biggest financial fallout in out history has been charged.

There are class a drug seizures but the journal seems obsessed about going with every single weed story…. Probably because it always, always sparks a ‘legalise it’ or ‘not’ debate…

I know its pedantic but its only right to point put that it was never legal in amsterdam but more tolerated.
Getting caught with large amounts is still an offence, its an offence for Coffee shops to have more than X amount in stock aswell.
Ireland will never legalize it, ever.

No but following suit with Dutch policies would be the best thing to do. Weed passes, growing for personal use, sale in designated coffee shops etc etc.

You don’t have to decriminalize it entirely just enough so it can be controlled and taxed properly and safely.

It’s better than the alternative.

what research are you reading? not one case of overdose recorded in over two thousand years of documented use. sounds safe enough to me.

Who mentioned the word overdose? Saying cannabis is a safe drug is simply irresponsible. Just because you cant overdose on it doesnt mean it is safe. There are a plenty of reliable studies into side effects associated with persistent use – including cancer, psychoses. Google them yourself. They are not anecdotal.

Have you read the side effects of any medication you’ve ever taken? Or any substance at all? Prolonged use of almost anything you can get over the counter in a chemist will do much more damage to you

no signs of lung damage in pure smokers only in those who use tobacco as a filler. psychosis is believed to occur in those already predisposed to these conditions. in no way is it as dangerous as alcohol and that is a recognised fact. nor is it as dangerous as tobacco both of which i can buy legally in any village town or city country wide.

It’s been proven to help patients suffering with chronic pain where other medications don’t help or make the patient worse. People with arthritis, MS etc.

The pros outweigh the cons, look it up since you are so well versed in research.
