Man due in court over Eamon Kelly shooting

Kelly, a major gangland figure, was killed as he was walking on Furry Park Road in Killester.

A MAN IN his 30 is due to appear before a Special Criminal Court at 6pm this evening, charged in connection with the death of Eamon Kelly on Tuesday.

Kelly, 65, was shot as he was walking on Furry Park Road in Killester, near Clontarf shortly after 4pm and later died in hospital.

A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene.

Kelly had several previous criminal convictions including for trafficking cocaine in the 1990s and was also involved in some of the biggest bank heists in the 1990s.
