Man shot in house in Castlebar

The man was brought to hospital and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A MAN HAS been shot in an incident in Castlebar this evening.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances of the shooting incident, which took place at approximately 8.30pm. A male in his 30s was shot during an incident at a house in the Castlegrove area of Castlebar.

He was removed to Mayo General Hospital. Gardaí say his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The scene is preserved pending a technical and forensic examination and gardaí are appealing for information.
