Marks & Spencer on Grafton St evacuated over "false alarm"

It is expected to reopen soon.

ON ONE OF the busiest weekends of the year, Marks & Spencer was forced to close its Grafton St store for an evacuation.

Shoppers were confused as to why the store’s shutters were down this afternoon:

A staff member told TheJournal.ie that due to a “false alarm” the store was evacuated.

She said that it will “probably reopen soon”.

A garda spokesperson said they had not been contacted about the evacuation, so it was unlikely it was a garda or criminal matter.
