Mastercard announces 130 new jobs for Dublin

The highly skilled jobs are to be created in the company’s new global office for technology which will be headquartered in Dublin.

130 HIGHLY SKILLED jobs are to be created by Mastercard in Dublin over the next four years, the company has announced this morning.

The payment company’s new global office for technology operations is to be headquartered in Dublin, bringing the total number of people employed by MasterCard in Ireland to around 200. The expansion is being supported by IDA Ireland.

The company is currently recruiting for technology roles for the Dublin office via its website.

Mastercard said that the government’s  ”commitment to science, technology and innovation” was one of the reasons why it chose Dublin for the expansion.

“MasterCard chose Ireland as a place to expand our presence because, from our vantage point, we see consumers moving toward a world beyond cast, shopping and paying for the things that matter to them in ways that best fit their needs and lifestyles with a simple tap, click or touch in-store, online, or on a mobile device,” said Rob Reeg, the president of MasterCard Technologies.

“We are pleased to make this investment in Ireland, which builds on our existing presence. The calibre of highly qualified, talented people and the Government’s commitment to science, technology and innovation, gave us confidence that this was the ideal setting for our new Global Technologies office”.
