Murder investigation launched after Belfast shooting

The crime is not thought to have been sectarian related.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have launched a murder investigation following the shooting dead of a man in west Belfast last night.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was shot as he made a delivery near shops in the Kennedy Way area just after 11pm.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to RTÉ News, a burnt out car was found in the Anderstown area which is close to the murder scene.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued by PSNI and further details are due to be released later this afternoon.

It is understood the crime is not believed to be sectarian.
