"One of life's really good guys" - Public figures use Twitter to pay tribute to Brian Lenihan

Tributes pour in for former Finance Minister Brian Lenihan, who has died at his home at the age of 52

TRIBUTES ARE BEING paid to former Finance Minister Brian Lenihan following his death in the early hours of the morning after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Lenihan had been suffering from the illness  for the past 18 months but had continued to work as a TD and as Minister for Finance in the last government.

He’s been described by the leader of Fianna Fáil Micheál Martin as an “outstanding public representative of his generation”, and family friends and politicans have been giving their reaction.

Policitical peers, colleagues have joined those who never met him in taking to Twitter in their droves to pay tribute to his memory and his legacy, and to express condolences to his family.
