Peugeot 5008

The new-look Peugeot 5008 seven-seater is finally on sale in Ireland

With its new facelift, it now rivals the Kia Sorento and Skoda Kodiaq.

THE NEW PEUGEOT 5008 seven-seater SUV is now available on Irish shores – and it’s had a serious facelift.

Peugeot has transformed the all-new 5008 from an MPV to a large C-segment SUV ready to rival the Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Skoda Kodiaq.

The 5008 is built on the same Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) as the 308 and the 3008 SUV, though it does have a slightly longer design.

Inside, the three middle row seats all fold and tilt separately and each feature three-point ISOFIX child seat anchor points. The two seats rearmost are removable and both fold independently of each other.

If you’re accommodating longer loads, simply fold back the front passenger seat and you can easily carry items of up to 3.2m in length.

With five seats in place, the boot can hold 1,060 litres and this swells to over 2,000 litres when all seats are tumbled down.

Here in Ireland, the Peugeot 5008 is offered in five trims; Access, Active, Allure, GT Line and GT. Entry-level Access models get the Peugeot iCockpit interior comprising a compact steering wheel, a configurable 12.3-inch head-up digital instrument panel, an eight-inch touchscreen, multifunction steering wheel, Bluetooth, USB connectivity and three 12V sockets as standard.

Safety features include Peugeot’s Electronic Stability Programme, six airbags, cruise control with speed limiting, and a Lane Departure Warning system.

The petrol engine line-up includes a 130hp 1.2-litre PureTech turbo unit available with six-speed manual or automatic transmission, while the diesel engine line-up includes a 100hp 1.6-litre BlueHDi unit mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Price-wise, petrol engines start at €28,745 plus delivery related charges, while the cheapest diesel version is the Access trim, starting at €29,265. Range-toppers can opt for the GT diesel version with a 180hp 2.0-litre engine, starting at €47,145.

The Peugeot 5008 is available now to test drive and order in dealerships across the country.
