Range Rover's new luxury Velar SUV is a refined off-roader with heaps of style

Pull up in one of these and you’ll make all the neighbours jealous.

IF I HAD the money I’d buy…

A handsome, mid-sized SUV that is dripping with new technology and luxurious features. A car that will make the neighbours jealous and make any driveway desirable. I’d buy the all-new Range Rover Velar.

Why a Range Rover Velar?

Design-wise, the Velar is stunning both inside and out – but it doesn’t just rely on looks to get by. Drivers will enjoy a supremely refined ride with plenty of off-road capabilities like terrain response, hill descent control, stability control and a low traction launch system.

What’s special about this particular one?

Sitting on top of gorgeous 21-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, this 2017 model is full of high-spec features like a wonderful full-size sliding panoramic tinted glass roof and an electric extending sunblind.

The interior is covered in perforated tan and ebony Windsor leather with a blonde linear veneer. Passengers in the back will be well entertained with an eight-inch entertainment system and up front there are two touchscreens, a reversing camera and 360-degree parking aid.

What does it look like in action?

Who else drives one?

As it’s only been on the market a few months, it’s hard to say who is driving one yet, but famous faces at the March 2017 launch included models Poppy Delevingne and David Gandy, and comedians Rob Brydon and Jimmy Carr. No doubt at least one of them got a set of wheels for their endorsement troubles.

It costs €101,985. What else could you get for the money?

Got your heart set on a luxury SUV? For slightly less money, you could have this 2017 Porsche Macan.
