Poll: Do you feel more optimistic about the Irish economy?

The latest consumer sentiment index tells us that consumers became slightly more confident in February. Did you?

THE LATEST FIGURES from the Consumer Sentiment Index, published by the ESRI and KBC Bank this morning, show that Irish consumers became slightly more optimistic about the economic outlook last month.

The index stood at 57 last month, up from 56.6 in January – and well up on the data from February 2011, when the index was 50.3.

Figures above 50 tend to reflect periods of economic growth – and commentators have interpreted the boost as saying that people are being heartened by the news of job creation at the likes of PayPal, Microsoft and Eli Lilly.

Today we’re wondering how you feel about the Irish economy – are you more optimistic than you were, say, a year ago?

Poll Results:

I'm less optimistic (954)
I'm more optimistic (934)
I'm about the same (653)
I'm not sure (70)
