I once worked in a call centre when I was in college. One day it was very nice outside, everyone was going drinking so I decided to quit. Then my buddy who worked the same job as me quit 5 minutes later and I can honestly say I’ve never felt so happy in my life.

I once rang in sick because I was playing GTA before work and didn’t realise the time had gotten away with itself and it was 11 am.

It’s sunny everywhere in the country and at my house in West Cork, IT’S CLOUDY AND IT’S GOING TO RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

My twin and I took a sickie once, we phone our boss ( the same boss) to say we had violent tummy bugs and we would be to stay at home today.
The sun was splitting the hedges outside and we were going to the beach, which was a ten mile hitch! Dressed for the beach we headed off , in the middle of no where and luckless for a lift. A car sped by and tooted as he drove past! It was our boss! We were rumbled! All day then we kept saying what if we get fired! We are sacked for sure! Any way may be the sun burn would of given us away in any case!. :)

This one time, at band camp, I stuck my flute in my eye, because it was sunny.

Beautiful sunny spring day I walked to work wondering whether I should ring in sick and take advantage of the first sun of the year. I ended up going into work but before anybody spotted me I walked out again and went for a long cycle along the south-east Dublin coast.

When the surf is big (in my part of Australia) it can be a problem getting to some people to their desk in the morning. Then there is the problem of looongg lunchbreaks. I’ve called in sick …. but for flood days.

Haven’t pulled a sickie, but I’ve been taking long walks along the river/sea in Wicklow town at lunchtime to try and make the most of it :) It’s the best I can manage, but at least I get to experience some of the sun before I have to commute back to Dublin.

I faked a broken toe to get off work placement to go to the beach when I was in college.

Working in a basement with little to no natural light…you would think I would be the prime subject to pull a sickie…but jobs don’t grow on trees…will have to make do with lunch on the lawn outside.

i have called in sick, and called my kids in sick,, they need to see the sun ,, they could write books on the rain here ,,, and feel it makes us all healthy,,,,and and the beach appreciates all the people crowding down for about 14 days of the year ,,,

I’m a public servant so would never consider doing such a thing. With all the budget and staff cuts I don’t have time to take all my meager annual leave as it is.
