Poll: Have you ever pulled a (sun) sickie to get off work?

It’s suggested that the hot weather is likely to tempt workers to call in sick. Have you done it – or would you be tempted?

IT’S BEING SUGGESTED today that the unusually warm weather for this time of year is likely to tempt the nation’s workers into telling their employers they’re sick, so they can exploit a day in the sun.

Yesterday’s temperatures, which reached over 25°C at Shannon Airport, were the highest of the year so far – but could be bettered by today’s warmth, which is forecast to reach 26°C.

Put simply, today we’re wondering whether you’ll admit to having faked an illness to get some time off work – or have at least been tempted to do so.

Have you ever pulled a (sun) sickie?

Poll Results:

No, but I've been tempted to (794)
No (777)
Yes (437)
'I don't know' (I won't admit to it) (37)
