Poll: What do you think of Thursday as referendum polling day?

The day for voting on the Fiscal Compact treaty has been criticised by some for “disenfranchising” students…

TANAISTE EAMON GILMORE yesterday confirmed that Thursday, 31 May would be polling day for the national referendum on the EU Fiscal Compact.

It means that campaigners have 65 days to persuade the public to either accept or reject the treaty. Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin asked the Government to reconsider having the poll on a Thursday as it might make it difficult for college students to get home to cast their ballot.

What do you think of having the referendum polling on a Thursday?

Poll Results:

It should be changed to a Friday (1124)
I'm fine with it (481)
I don't know (64)
