Gardaí appeal for witnesses to shooting of teen

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was at Memorial Park at the rear of Liffey Gaels GAA Clubhouse or who saw anything suspicious to contact them.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to a shoooting incident in which an 18-year-old was injured in Dublin yesterday to contact them.

Gardaí investigating the shooting incident yesterday afternoon (Sunday 13 January) at Memorial Park, Dublin 8 are appealing for witnesses to contact them at the incident room in Kilmainham Garda Station on 01 666 9700.

They would particularly like to speak to anyone who was at Memorial Park at the rear of Liffey Gaels GAA Clubhouse or at the cross over pedestrian bridge on N4 at around 3pm yesterday, or passing motorists who may have noticed anything suspicious in these areas.

A 19-year-old man was arrested in Dublin yesterday evening and is being questioned at Kilmainham Garda Station.

The shooting took place at the National War Memorial Gardens in Dublin, near Phoenix Park.

As well as the above appeal, gardaí have asked for anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious near the footbridge on the Con Colbert Road side of Memorial Park at around 3pm to contact Kilmainham Garda Station on 01  666 9700, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
