Sogeti to create 65 jobs in Dublin and Galway

The IT consultancy firm is expanding its offices in the two cities over the next three years.

AN IT CONSULTANCY firm is set to create 65 new positions in Dublin and Galway, jobs minister Richard Bruton has announced.

Sogeti, a subsidiary of consulting business Capgemini, is expanding its offices in the two cities. The move will see its Irish workforce expand to around 150 over the next three years.

The roles created will be skilled and graduate IT positions, and recruitment is already under way, Bruton said. Speaking in China where he is accompanying Taoiseach Enda Kenny on a State visit, he added:

The Action Plan for Jobs targets IT and outsourcing as key sectors where Ireland has the potential for major employment growth. The global ICT sector is expected to grow by 5 per cent per annum in the coming years.

Jeff Schmalbach, the CEO of Sogeti Ireland, said: “We view this growth as further investment into a market that has been a long time strategic market for the [Capgemini] Group.  Additionally, Sogeti is excited to bring more career opportunities to the Irish economy and be part of the overall solution.”

Sogeti is headquartered in Paris and employs around 120,000 people in 40 countries. Last year it reported revenues of €9.7billion.
