Tesco recalls batch of Creamy Leek and Bacon Cooking Sauce over 'undeclared egg'

The affected batch may be unsafe for people who are allergic to eggs.

A BATCH OF Tesco’s Creamy Leek and Bacon Cooking Sauce is being recalled because it contains egg which is not declared on the label.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued a recall notice for 470g jars of the sauce earlier today.

The FSAI said the undeclared egg “may make the implicated batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of egg and its constituents.”

Jars with a ‘best before’ date of “End July 2018″ are affected by the recall.

More information can be read on the FSAI’s website.
