1. #DEAL: The Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, said it is possible for European leaders to agree on how much help Ireland can be given to relieve its banking debts, without needing the new EU-wide banking supervisor to be in place in 2014.
2. #PYRITE: The Minister of Finance, Michael Noonan has announced that householders with homes affected by pyrite will be exempt from paying the property tax. Speaking in the Dáil, Noonan said the government is conscious of the “very real cost and difficulties faced by people whose homes have been affected by pyrite”.
3. #BUS EIREANN: The company will change staff terms and conditions, cut overtime, shift, premium and rota payments as well as annual leave after trade unions rejected offers made by Bus Eireann at a Labour Court hearing.
4. #FERMANAGH: Sean Quinn, who is currently in jail, received a pledge of support from Fermanagh GAA convention this week. Quinn, who was at one time the richest man in Ireland, was sentenced to nine weeks in jail on 2 November by the High Court for contempt of court.
5. #WEATHER: Although rain has become patchy this evening, Met Éireann issued flood warnings for the south and east coasts earlier and here’s why.
