  • An otherwise uneventful GAA Congress was interrupted for a few minutes earlier today when a group of Croke Park residents stormed the congress floor, protesting at GAA plans to demolish and redevelop the handball courts complex beside the stadium. • The online poker industry has taken a major hit after three main US sites were accused of systematic fraud by New York prosecutors – but it transpires that one of the 11 executives charged is Dublin-based.
  • A court in Egypt has ordered that the former party of ousted president Hosni Mubarak be dissolved, and its assets returned to the State.
  • Kate Middleton’s booked the übersnazzy Goring Hotel for the night before her wedding. Most of us wouldn’t be able to match the €1,158-a-night asking price – so here’s a gallery to give you a taste of the luxury.
  • If Donald Trump doesn’t run for election next year (and he still might), he could find himself spending a little more time in Ireland: it’s reported today that his son visited a golf club in Brittas, scoping out a potential purchase. The Trump family already owns ten courses in the US and Caribbean, but doesn’t currently have one in Europe – though it’s building one in Scotland.
  • Actor Nicolas Cage has been arrested in New Orleans on charges of domestic abuse.
  • In the first of the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, a second-half Yaya Toure strike saw Manchester City run out 1-0 winners against fierce rivals Manchester United. The victory puts paid to United’s treble hopes, while City will now face either Bolton or Stoke in the showpiece on May 14.
  • To finish this evening: a penguin being tickled. Need we say any more?
