OCCASIONALLY YOU HEAR stories of people trying real-life acts of questionable logic that you think, ‘That’s like something Homer Simpson would do.’

Presenting a real-life example: someone who adopted Homer Simpson’s tactic of driving through New York as if the clamp on his front tyre wasn’t there.

Mark Kelly was wandering through Ranelagh last week when he spotted this car sitting in traffic, with a clamp on its front-left tyre – with its driver insisting that clampers could “go to hell”.

As you’ll see, the driver found himself gradually veering to the left as the clamp made its presence known – with no option but to give up the ghost and abandon his trek.
