WikiLeaks emails suggest Bin Laden corpse ‘brought to America’

Internet emails at the intelligence company Stratfor suggest Osama bin Laden’s body wasn’t buried at sea, as suggested.

INTERNAL EMAILS in a major global intelligence firm, published by WikiLeaks, suggest that Osama bin Laden’s body may have been brought to America after he was killed by US Navy Seals.

The emails, from the intelligence firm Stratfor which offered services to major international corporations, are being published by the whistleblowing site having been obtained in an attack on Stratfor’s servers by the Anonymous movement.

In one email, sent by Stratfor’s vice-president for intelligence Fred Burton – and timestamped just hours after Barack Obama announced details of the Pakistani raid that killed bin Laden – Burton declares:

Reportedly, we took the body with us. Thank goodness.

Another, 25 minutes later – with the subject ‘Body bound for Dover, DE on CIA plane’ adds: “Than [sic] onward to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda”.

‘Dover, DE’ refers to Dover in Delaware, the site of a major air force base around 175km from Washington.

In another email sent an hour later, Burton – who is considered a leading expert on terrorism and security, and who previously served as the second-in-command at the Department of State’s counterterrorism division - adds:

If body dumped at sea, which I doubt, the touch is very Adolph Eichman [sic] like. The Tribe did the same thing with the Nazi’s ashes.

We would want to photograph, DNA, fingerprint, etc.

His body is a crime scene and I don’t see the FBI nor DOJ letting that happen.

Adolf Eichmann was a leading organiser of the Holocaust who later fled to Argentina on a fake passport until he was captured by Mossad and brought to trial in Israel. He was executed and cremated and his ashes spread at sea, so that there could be no memorial to him.

In response to that email, the company’s CEO George Friedman – a child of Holocaust survivors – wrote:

Eichmann was seen alive for many months on trial before being sentenced to death and executed. No one wanted a monument to him so they cremated him. But i dont know anyone who claimed he wasnt eicjhman.

No comparison with suddenly burying him at sea without any chance to view him which i doubt happened.

Some seven hours later, Burton responded again:

Body is Dover bound, should be here by now

While it is not clear whether Burton is relying on any internal military source, or merely making an educated guess – and while it should be noted that the email exchanges begin with the word ‘reportedly’ – the emails, if true, would undermine the US claim that bin Laden’s body was buried at sea within hours of his death.

Previous emails from the Stratfor cache, which WikiLeaks says is made up of some five million emails, suggest that the Pakistani intelligence forces were aware of bin Laden’s presence in the country – a charge  Pakistan has consistently denied.

The compound in which bin Laden lived and was killed, just outside Abbottabad, was torn down earlier this week.

It was always suspected though wasn’t it? Made absolutely no sense to dispose of the body so quick.

  • Dover is home to Dover Air Force Base and the Dover Port Mortuary, the Department of Defense official military mortuary whose role is to identify and process the remains of military and government personnel killed overseas.
Jfk, 911 victims, Jonestown Massacre victims, Space Shuttle Crew, as well as personnel killed in action since 1955.
It has recently been investigated and found guilty of gross mismanagement . Falsified records. Losing bodies. Dumping 274 soldiers remains in a landfill along with 911 victims remains.
Knowing the ineptitude of the Dover Mortuary and the potential for “losing” or exploitation of OBL remains, I would opt for processing and documenting the corpse on a naval vessel as dispose of it at sea as officially reported. However I would make public all information including video, photos and affidavits of every person who had contact with the remains.

You would have been right at home in Nazi Germany denying to yourself what the smell was from the camps and ridiculing the people telling you what was really happening. You probably would have ratted out Oscar Shindler. Spineless sheep are just what our government likes. Guaranteed YES vote from you then. If you can’t make a argument then shut up.

  • @Ed If you are right then wikileaks is wrong as are the US Govt.
I dont trust Wikileaks nor do I trust the US Govt but I guess it’s the fact that I don’t trust your theories that makes me a sheep .
I suggest you put a history book in that LFC lunchbox of yours & read it sometime.
There are many unbiased accounts of the rise of nazi Germany & the governing of nazi occupied Europe.

None of them present a viewpoint as black & white as yours though but they’re still worth a read

Of course you don’t have to look too far on the Internet to find Websites where like minded individuals make fun of the “sheep” who don’t believe the “concrete Evidence” that the Holocaust never happened
Which was kind of my point in the first place.

Concerning 9/11, I personally find the official story sketchy at best and would advise watching the 9/11 part of the zeitgeist movie on YouTube just because it’s interesting!

    Obama bin laden? Seriously?

  • I’m pretty sure that if the US administration admitted to killing Bin laden & bringing his body to a secret location that there would be something on Wikileaks to suggest that he was buried at sea /still alive / sitting on the Whitehouse lawn drinking iced tea & watching baseball with Hillary Clinton.
Governments lie all the time ,
But If you can’t trust a faceless unregulated Disparate organisation with an obvious agenda and unknown political & financial sponsorship who can you trust?

It’s strange, the stuff about the body being brought to Dover is very specific, as if he did have inside knowledge. But if that was the case, why would he need to speculate about whether the “burial at sea” story was true? Not really sure what to make of it, but interesting find anyway.

  • And guys, they’re not “WikiLeaks emails” – your headline is misleading. They’re Stratfor emails published by Wikileaks – different thing entirely.
The body being brought to the USA makes much more sense than the original story. And would make some sense of the claims of DNA tests – they had no time to verify DNA before “dumping the body in the sea” as originally claimed.

    • In some cases yes.

      Reply
    • Your point is appreciated – they’re obviously not emails belonging to or written by WikiLeaks.

We’d argue, though, that it makes more sense in a headline to be a little bit more liberal with the definition – in the same way we would have referred to the diplomatic cables as ‘the WikiLeaks cables’, we’d think a reader is better able to identify what we’re talking about if we refer to these ones (in a headline at least) as ‘WikiLeaks emails’.

If we take the same liberties in the body of a post itself, though, feel free to call us up on it.

I’ve never seen (because it was never produced) a shred of evidence that bin Laden was responsible for 9/11. Perhaps you know more than me. Can you give us a link or two please? (and not to doctored videos)
“Wikileaks, my arse !! S.U.M.O. ( shut up, move on )” — I think we can decide for ourselves when to move on, tks!

    • No, Dermot. U are entitled to your opinions as I am entitled to mine. There’s no justification for all the innocents who have been murdered. By anyone anywhere. None whatsoever. I have my doubts about Wikileaks. They don’t convince me & Julian A doesn’t convince me/impress me one bit. Something about him doesn’t add up. Wayupnorth – you certainly can decide when to move on. I think it’s time the world did. I’ve often said that mother nature should light up one megga spliff & cover the world in cannabis smoke for a week at least. Why ? So we can all chill da fcuk out !!

    • @wayupnorth. What evidence do you want that Osama was responsible? He came out on video and admitted he was behind it.

If you’re anti-American, that’s fine, but if the tapes were doctored do you not think someone on the opposite side would expose it?

    • And Iraq under Saddam H was paradise to live in, wayupnorth ? Afghanistan is a sheer delightful place for women & girls to live in ? Always was ? Despots really do care about the people in the countries they rule over with an iron fist ? N Korea is heaven on earth for millions of people who were jailed for not showing enough grief at the death of a lunatic ? Of course – it’s all America’s fault !! Forgot about that. Never once have I heard/read any “lefty reading conspiracy theorists” condemn the dreadful human rights abuses of leftist regimes around the world. Pick the easy targets like America who allow the freedom to criticise. Premptive strikes are not nice but there are times when u are deakinng with the devil, u have to do what is necessary for the greater good.

    • Declan Carroll, don’t make me sick. Iraq was not invaded to make life better for Iraqis, as you well know. Nor did it. And Afghanistan was not invaded for the sake of Afghan women either. What utter nonsense! What good is being bombed armless and legless, or headless, to Afghan women?? America does not engage in “humanitarian intervention”. America only intervenes where it suits American interests. Period. That’s why Bahrain and Saudi can do as they please. Let’s have no more hypocrisy, please.

  • There’s an old story that when the Russians took Berlin at the end of WW2 a small group of soldiers came across some SS men in the process of destroy Hitler and Eva Braun’s corpses. The Russians shot the Germans and notified the NKVD (predecessor to the KGB) that they had recovered Hitler’s body and asked what to do with it. The NKVD showed up and carried it off to Moscow to be identified, whereupon Hitler was then cremated and kept in a jar under the Kremlin as a trophy by Stalin. Hitler’s ashes were eventually returned to Germany in the 70′s under Brezhnev’s orders and scattered into a river near East Berlin.

These sorts of things are always going to be the subject of speculation and rumor and the full account will never truly be revealed, but at least the son of a bitch is dead and buried.

    • Denis, Bin Laden was a confirmed CIA operative. Fact. His whole family were great Buddies with the Bushes and were evacuated out of the US on the day after 911, even though all flights were grounded.. But you won’t believe I suppose, as if I am making it up.

      Reply
    • That point is true, Ed. They were flown out for their own safety as far as I can remember. Afterall, they are not their brother’s keeper. Why ? That’s another debate. As regards the thrust of this thread, who really cares where his body was flown to at the end of the day ? Up to 3,000 people, American & other nationalities, went about their business on 9/11 & were murdered. That is unjustified. Do people care where his body was flown to ? I doubt the vast majority do. 9/11 was horrific. It happened. But, life moves on & it has moved on. Rehashing this doesn’t achieve anything.

More US propaganda lies and poor journalism from the Journal.

Although they may have his body when he was originally killed at the end of 2001. Apparently he must have had a kidney transplant in the Afghan mountains as no dialysis equipment was found in the alleged compound. The whole affair was fantasy stuff and they killed the Seals to stop them talking

Plenty of food for thought here
