Woman’s taste for loud music prompts four arrests in 26 hours

The fourth time, though, the New Hampshire woman was arrested for throwing a frying pan at her nephew.

AUTHORITIES SAY a New Hampshire woman has been arrested four times in 26 hours – for blasting the AC/DC song ‘Highway to Hell’ and other loud music from her home, and for throwing a frying pan.

Police first issued a warning to Joyce Coffey on Tuesday afternoon at her home in Epping. They say they were called back an hour later and arrested her for the loud music.

Police say Coffey was arrested again five hours later. She was released and arrested again before dawn on Wednesday – over more loud music.

Police arrested her again after her nephew said he tried to remove some of his belongings from her house and she threw the frying pan at him.

Coffey was jailed on Friday and could not be reached for comment.

WMUR-TV reports a judge has recommended she use headphones.

She on a highway to cell….

  • In fairness to her, you can’t listen to Highway to Hell with the volume down. When that tune comes on, you turn it up to 11 and that’s that.

I guess the smile in the last mugshot indicates that the frying pan found its target :P

  • Funny that.. You don’t get arrested for making lots of excess noise in the middle of the night over here.. It’s “a civil matter”.
You don’t even get arrested for making death threats, and when you get evicted for same – you can refuse to leave, make *more* noise, and wait for the courts to evict you.. Which can take up to two years..

I wish I lived in Epping.. My situation would never have escalated to the point where I was assaulted by my noisy, aggressive, *christian* neighbour..

    • “Christian” eh? Would I be going too far in suggesting they were a member of some obscure ministry?

      Reply
    • I would imagine they were, hence the *s.
There was speaking in tongues and giving birth noises with no pregnant women present.. So it would probably be fair to say so..
The only other Christians I have come across that were like that were American extremists on a forum, most of the Christians I know in life try to live their lives as they imagine Jesus would – which is rather pleasant, so as you can imagine it was a bit of a shock!!

    • I can imagine:(

Hopefully resolved now, as I’m assuming they’ve moved on to pester another gullible, rent allowance accepting, absentee landlord?

    • Yes, thankfully.. HALLELUJAH!! Lol :D

    • You might have more credibility if you just said noisy, aggressive neighbour! Wonder why their Christianity is relevant to their behaviour?

      Reply
    • Marie, how exactly is my credibility in question?
I put an emphasis upon the word Christian as this pairs behaviour was the furthest from Christian I have ever seen – yet they made a big song and dance about their religious beliefs and tried to insinuate that those beliefs made them better people.. Except they were noisy, aggressive and hostile..
Why did you take it so badly? Did you not see where I pointed this out already and stated that I reckoned they were some obscure ministry because their behaviour was most unchristian?

I didn’t lose any credibility, but my neighbours certainly did.. They were hypocrites and nothing more – I take it you know Jesus’ feelings on those, yes?

  • If you neighbour is a Christian he probably follows the Bible. So just throw his copy over a cliff :-)

    • They ain’t following the bible, that says “love thy neighbour” “do unto others as you would have them do to you” and has a whole chunk about: if you talk the talk but don’t walk the walk then theres a extra special corner of hell waiting for you (mind you – the boys in the Vatican seemed to miss that part too!!)..

  • Wasn’t she advised to throw out the frying pan, her action speaks volumes of her condition.

  • Out of the frying pan.. Into the fires of hell!

  • What if she is genuinely from a socially deprived area and has mental issues? What if she’s deaf and doesn’t realise it (thinks the music’s a reasonable level). What if something massively devastating has happened recently during her life that making her unstable?………..Anyway my point is that it worries me how quick to negatively judge someone the majority of people who leave comments on this site. Empathy? Understanding? anyone?

    • as I was reading your comment my brain added some soft quiet music to go with your very kind message, as I neared the end of your comment your words got fainter and the music got louder, low and behold it was only the start of AC/DC’s highway to hell..

      true story that..

    • Empathy and understanding, as visited upon any Irish court, on any week you like.

“He had a hard upbringing Judge, and those fifty previous convictions are a constant source of shame to him (most of his buddies have more). He’s doing his best to give up the gear (this week), and has recently started attending a FÁS course (because they’ll cut his benefit; he’s turned up. Once.) Can we have some leniency please, Judge, because we don’t want to be seen to deal reactively with offenders? That wouldn’t be the Irish way at all at all.”

  • The poor woman looks ill – probably suffers with her nerves – its a pity the law didn’t defuse the situation instead of wasting time and money with futile arrests – just flexing their power muscles because they can – she doesn’t exactly look loved and cared for so she’d be an easy target. She looks to me to need help and understanding rater than punishment!
