A WOMAN IN her late 20s died in a car crash in Cork last night.

The car she was driving left the road on the N20 at Clogheenmilcon at around 10.25pm. She was the only person in the car.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Cork University Hospital.

This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.

Gardai in Blarney are investigating and are appealing for witnesses to contact Blarney Garda Station on 021 4516290, the garda confidential telephone line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
