Luxury meets industry at this €750k Kinsale renovation that’s far from run of the mill
Live on the centuries-old site of Kinsale’s landmark mill.

PART OF THE beautifully restored grounds of a 400-year-old mill, and sitting within an exclusive gated complex of just seven homes, 6 Old Mill is clearly a little piece of history.

Spanning about 242 m², this house sits alongside the original mill wheel, an eye-catching feature that’s proof of the site’s rich heritage.

It’s clear that expenses weren’t spared during the upgrade. Materials and luxury additions you can expect throughout include natural slate, hardwood flooring, marble worktops, and underfloor heating.

The kitchen is impressively spacious and would certainly suit those who enjoy entertaining while cooking. The American-style fridge, range and large extractor fan ensures that this is a functional space that isn’t just for show, however.

The landing provides a gorgeous transition between each of the three floors, but also ample display storage for collections of all sorts – be it books, music or photographs.

The bedrooms (all double) are large and tastefully decorated providing an easy blank canvas to work with when moving day arrives. Some enjoy open fire places, hand crafted wall panelling and built-in wardrobes.

Three of the four bedrooms are en suite and there is a large family bathroom, which means no queues for the toilet when extended family and friends are invited to stay, either.

The kitchen leads to a large sunroom to the back of the house that has direct access to the patio and garden. From this garden, there is footbridge to more green space.

Kinsale house in old mill

There’s often a fear with historic properties that the energy rating won’t be up to scratch. This is not the case for this four-bed, four-bath home. The property has a BER of C2, so lack of comfort and warmth on moving in is not a major concern.

The bustling seaside town of Kinsale is just over a mile away, and Cork city is a 30 minute drive. Kinsale is often hailed as one of the most attractive and most liveable towns in west Cork, not just for its picturesque location but for how easy it is to access the city.

An area of Cork that really comes alive in the summer time, there’s no doubt you will have people vying to stay a few nights and enjoy everything the county has to offer.

Though with a location as beautiful and inviting as 6 Old Mill, you may not want to travel too far.
