1. In our main story this morning, Niall O’Connor reports that four gardaí are out of work following two incidents of assault in recent days, leaving the Co Waterford town of Dungarvan down an entire unit to police its streets.

The gardaí were attacked during shifts last week, causing them to have to take sick leave to treat their wounds.

2. New data released by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland shows that while the residential sector is on track to stay within its carbon budget come the end of the year, the energy and transport sectors are lagging behind.

3. A young girl at the centre of a garda investigation into whether she was assaulted in west Dublin had been in the care of Tusla when she went missing. A man in his 30s has been arrested by investigating gardaí.
