1. #KAREN: A second vigil is being planned for Glasgow in honour of Cork student Karen Buckley. Around 1,000 people gathered yesterday evening to hold a vigil in the city’s George Square – including her parents, Marian and John.

2. #ISIS: In Australia, five teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of plotting an Islamic State-inspired terrorist attack at a Veterans’ Day ceremony.

3. #ROAD DEATH: A 32-year-old man has died after his motorbike crashed on the Nenagh Bypass last night. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

4. #FITTING IN: The son of former president Mary McAleese, Justin, has written a piece for the Irish Independent this morning on growing up gay in Ireland. “All I wanted to do was fit in,” the 30-year-old writes.

5. #COWEN: Former Taoiseach Brian Cowen has said that “of course” mistakes were made in dealing with the banking crash. The ex-Fianna Fáil leader also said he was looking forward to appearing at the banking inquiry, in a rare public comment.

6. #BIN THE BILLS: Left-wing politicians organising a planned mass boycott of Irish Water are hoping their campaign could trigger a snap election in the next few months. Another protest is planned for Dublin later.

7. #IN COURT: An adult ADHD sufferer who bit off part of another man’s ear has walked free from court with a suspended sentence. James Mooney (22) punched his victim in the head before biting hard into his ear and tearing part of it off.

8. #CLARKSON: Jeremy Clarkson has said he’ll miss hosting Top Gear. Writing in The Sun, he said: ”Heartfelt thanks to all those who have written to say how much they will miss me on Top Gear. It’s not as much, however, as I’ll miss being there.”

9. #THE OUTLOOK: Today’s weather forecast isn’t too bad. It’ll be dry in most areas. Temperatures will only reach around 15 degrees, though. And it will be cooler still at the coasts – just around 11 or 12.
