US PRESIDENT DONALD Trump has accused his predecessor Barack Obama of revealing classified information after Obama said in a recent interview that aliens are “real.”

When asked by Fox News about the remarks, Trump said that Obama “made a big mistake”.

“He gave classified information, he’s not supposed to be doing that,” Trump said, not specifying what he considered to be classified.

When asked whether he believes that extraterrestrials exist, Trump said: “I don’t know if they’re real or not. I don’t have an opinion. A lot of people do”.

Trump’s comments came after Obama’s interview with podcast host Brian Tyler Cohen, where he was asked about aliens.

“They’re real, but I haven’t seen them and they’re not being kept in Area 51,” Obama said, dismissing conspiracy theories about secret facilities and adding that any such conspiracy would have had to be hidden even from the president.

Obama has since clarified that he saw no evidence of extraterrestrial life during his time in office.
