Animal charity thanks ‘vigilant member of the public’ for the safe return of stolen dog

The dog was reportedly stolen on Tuesday night.

THE NSPCA WICKLOW has thanked a “vigilant member of the public” for their role in the safe return of a dog that was stolen from its premises.

Video footage seen by The Journal appeared to show two men throwing the dog over the fence of the Wicklow NSPCA centre in Rathdrum.

Gardaí had said they were investigating the reported theft of the dog on Tuesday night.

In a statement on social media this evening, NSPCA Wicklow thanked everyone who shared a previous post about the stolen dog.

“We are relieved and delighted to confirm that she has been found safe and well and is currently receiving veterinary care,” added the statement.

NSPCA Wicklow paid a special thanks to a “vigilant member of the public who spotted her and contacted Bray Garda Station”.

The animal charity also thanked local gardaí and the NSPCA Inspectorate team “who acted quickly to ensure she was safely recovered and returned to our care”.
