POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have appealed for local businesses and residents to help them with their investigation into the murder of 51-year-old woman Anne O’Neill.
The PSNI launched the investigation after being called to a scene at Ardmore Avenue in Belfast yesterday morning at 7am, where a woman had been reported as being in distress.
Anne O’Neill was discovered injured in the rear garden of a property in the area. Despite attempts by emergency services to resuscitate her, she passed away at the scene.
“I am appealing for anyone who resides in the Ardmore Avenue and Ardmore Park area of Finaghy and who have CCTV installed at their address to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference 338 21/10/17,” Detective Inspector Geoffrey Boyce said this morning.
Two men, aged 23 and 27, were yesterday arrested in south Belfast on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody.
Anyone who may have been in the Ardmore Avenue area of the city on Friday night or Saturday morning or who witnessed any suspicious activity or any vehicles driving in the area is asked to make contact with the PSNI.
“Alternatively if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111,” Boyce added.
