POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have arrested a 73-year-old man in connection with the abduction and murder of Jean McConville in 1972.
The PSNI confirmed that the arrest had taken place.
“He has been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning,” said Detective Inspector Neil McGuinness.
Jean McConville was a 37-year-old mother of ten children who was taken from her west Belfast home in December 1972 and shot by the IRA. Her body was only recovered in August 2003.
Several people have been arrested so far this year in connection with the investigation.
