Two teenagers arrested following drive-by bicycle shooting

Jason Doogue was shot a number of times by a man on a bicycle.

TWO INDIVIDUALS HAVE been arrested following the fatal shooting of Jason Doogue in Athy, Co Kildare.

The incident happened shortly after 5pm on Friday evening when a number of shots were fired at close range by a hooded gunman on a push bike.

Doogue was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

One male in his early teens was arrested on yesterday afternoon and brought to Leixlip Garda Station and detained under the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

A second male, aged in his late teens, was also arrested yesterday evening and is currently being detained in Naas Garda Station.

A third man, in his early 40s was arrested on Friday evening and remains in custody in Kildare Garda Station.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them at Kildare Garda Station on 045 527730, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
