WE’RE HEADING WEST this week to discover what’s on offer for anyone with a budget of €600,000 max. Four detached homes dotted around Co Galway have made the cut this time, from a four-bed with stunning views in Leenane to a five-bed architecturally-designed home in Moycullen.
On an elevated 3.5 acre site, the view form this four-bed is hard to beat seeing as Killary Fjord is in its eyeline as well as the Maamturks and Twelve Bens. Spanning a roomy 255 m², this luxurious family home was built in 2011. It’s filled with high-end fixtures like the solid frame cherry wood kitchen, underfloor heating, and a whopping five en-suite wetrooms.
A large lawn, lots of parking, a detached garage and timber shed make up the surrounding grounds. A five minute drive from Leenane, the village has an array of amenities and there’s plenty to do if outdoor activities are top of the agenda. A swimming spot in Killary Fjord is just a stroll away, while beautiful Glassilaun beach is a short drive from here.
Architecturally designed and spanning 307 sq m, Duilleog is an impressive five-bed built for people who enjoy the good life, particularly when it comes to entertaining. Features include a south facing back garden with a covered veranda for al fresco dining and a bright kitchen with hand crafted cream built-in kitchen units, solid oak floors, a Belfast sink and a range cooker. A fully functioning sauna room complete with shower and changing area is also on the ground floor.
Head up to the first floor and you’ll find a a bedroom with an en suite bathroom, two children’s bedrooms, as well as a spacious master bedroom with its own lounge, walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room. There’s also a family bathroom on this floor. Moycullen village is just 12 km from Galway city and commands lovely views over Lough Corrib, Ballyquirke and Ross lakes.
Located off the Upper Ballymoneen Road in Knocknacarra, 61 Maoilin is just six years old, so it’s energy efficient and in great nick. As well as everything you would expect from an energy efficient home, this property has solar panels that supply constant hot water. Inside, the house is a spacious 130 m², comprising a downstairs toilet, a living room, an open plan kitchen and dining area and also a utility room. Four bedrooms are above. There’s a shed is the west-facing back garden and off-street parking to the front.
This family home sits on an elevated site that has great views over Galway Bay. It’s also close to Colaiste na Coiribe and the Educate Together school on the Cappagh Road. Salthill Promenade is just a short drive away, too.
Number 3 Gort na gCrann is a modern and energy efficient home which was only built in 2019. It part of a small development of detached homes in Kilcolgan, a village situated that’s within easy reach of the coast, Galway city and Shannon Airport.
Inside, you can expect everything families today need in terms of space and comfort, such as a large open plan kitchen and a back garden that can be viewed from inside thanks to the floor to ceiling picture window. One of the bedrooms is downstairs and it has its own shower room, while the other three large bedrooms are upstairs. The master has an en suite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and the added luxury of a balcony.
