Two people hospitalised after being struck by horse on Derry beach

A 66-year-old man was arrested in connection with the injuries but has been released on bail.

A MAN HAS been left with serious injuries after being struck by a horse on a beach in Co Derry.

A woman was also injured in the incident, which took place on Benone Strand in Limavady yesterday.

Both received medical treatment at the scene from ambulance and coast guard staff before being taken to to hospital.

The man’s injuries are understood not to be life-threatening.

A 66-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation but has since been released on bail as police investigate.

Police have appealed for witness to the incident to come forward.
