Some rail services will not be running this Bank Holiday weekend

All services across the country will operate on a revised timetable.

SOME TRAIN SERVICES will not operate on the upcoming October Bank Holiday weekend as Iarnród Éireann carries out a series of major works in Dublin, Louth and Galway.

From Saturday 25 to Monday 27 October, there will be no DART services between Connolly and Howth/Malahide and no Commuter rail services between Dublin and Drogheda.

Dublin Bus and GoAhead will accept rail tickets to and from the affected areas and DART services will operate between Connolly and Greystones.

A limited bus replacement service will operate between Dublin Connolly and Donabate, Balbriggan and Drogheda, as well as between Dublin Connolly and Rush & Lusk and Skerries.

Bus transfers will also operate between Dublin and Drogheda for all Enterprise services but with a revised timetable.

Due to works being done as part of the Ceannt Station redevelopment, including the commissioning of the new platform 5, there will be bus transfers between Galway and Athenry in both directions on all Galway/Dublin, Galway/Limerick and Galway/Athlone services, with a revised timetable.

All services across the country will operate on a revised timetable.

Iarnród Éireann has advised customers to check train times on its website or the app ahead of making their journeys over the weekend. Inter-city trains should be booked in advance, the rail company said.

Extra services

Also this weekend, there will be some extra rail services run to accommodate people attending a number of events in Dublin and Cork.

There will be extra DART services running after full time in the UEFA Women’s Nations League game between Ireland and Belgium in the Aviva Stadium on Friday, but DARTs will not serve Grand Canal Dock for the end of the match (8:25pm to 10pm) because of crowd control measures.

There will be additional DART services for Leinster’s URC game against Zebre at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday both before and after the match, but DARTs will not serve Grand Canal Dock for the end of the match (6:50pm to 8:30pm) also because of crowd management arrangements.

Extra late evening services will operate between Cork and Cobh/Midleton for the Cork Jazz Festival on Saturday and Sunday.

Finally, there will be additional services for the Dublin Marathon on Sunday between Maynooth and Dublin Pearse and Greystones and Dublin Connolly.
