Woman (70s) killed after crash involving two cars and a truck in Co Louth

The fatal road traffic incident happened on Bridge Street, Ardee, Co Louth, today.

A WOMAN IN her 70s has died following a collision involving two cars and a truck this afternoon in Co Louth.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the fatal road traffic incident on Bridge Street, Ardee, Co Louth, today. The collision occurred at around 11:25am.

The driver and only occupant of one the cars was brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where she was pronounced deceased. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

The road has closed for Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct an examination of the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 11:00 and 11:30am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
