Here's what Brooklyn Beckham's wedding DJ had to say about that 'awkward' dance

Brooklyn Beckham’s wedding DJ says Victoria’s moves weren’t scandalous, just spectacularly ill-timed, as the family drama rumbles on.

IF THERE WAS any doubt that the Beckham family saga had reached full soap-opera levels, allow DJ Fat Tony to confirm: yes, things were a bit awkward.

The DJ, who performed at Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz’s 2022 wedding, spoke out after Brooklyn made a series of explosive claims this week about his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, including that his mother “hijacked” his first dance and behaved “inappropriately” in front of guests.

Appearing on ITV’s This Morning, Fat Tony said speculation about the moment had been exaggerated, stressing there was “no slut-dropping, no PVC catsuits and no Spice Girl action”.

However, he acknowledged that the situation unfolded in a way that left both Brooklyn and Nicola distressed.

According to the DJ, US singer Marc Anthony was performing at the reception when he called Brooklyn on to the stage.

Guests expected Nicola to join him for the couple’s planned first dance.

Instead, Anthony asked for “the most beautiful woman in the room” – and then called Victoria’s name.

Fat Tony told ITV’s This Morning that Nicola immediately left the room in tears, while Brooklyn was left on stage believing he was about to share his first dance with his wife.

“They then do this dance and Marc says, ‘Put your hands on your mother’s hips,’” he said, describing it as “a Latin thing” (Marc Anthony is a Latin-American artist).

The whole situation was very awkward for everyone in the room.

The DJ added that Brooklyn was “devastated”, and said the mood carried into the following day’s brunch, where guests openly discussed what had happened the night before.

“When the bride and groom leave their wedding devastated, word trickles out,” he said, adding that many guests did not attend the brunch.

Fat Tony stressed that the dance itself was only “a very small part of a bigger problem” within the Beckham family, and that much of Brooklyn’s wider statement had been overlooked in favour of focusing on the moment.

Brooklyn said in his social media post that he felt “uncomfortable and humiliated” by the incident, and accused his parents of prioritising “brand Beckham” over his relationship with Nicola.

He also said that he does not wish to reconcile with his family.

David and Victoria Beckham have not directly responded to Brooklyn’s claims.

David recently commented on social media more broadly, saying it can be used “for the good and for the bad”, and that “children are allowed to make mistakes”.

Brooklyn and Nicola were seen together this week for the first time since the statement was released, walking their dog along a beach in Malibu.
