Witness appeal launched after man attacked near Dublin's Grand Canal

Gardaí believe the injuries are not life-threatening.

A MAN WAS hospitalised following an assault in Dublin yesterday evening.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses following the attack near the Grand Canal at Portobello Road at approximately 6.10pm.

A man aged in his 30s was rushed to St James’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, which gardaí believe are not life-threatening at this time.

Anyone who was in the area of Portobello Road between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, and who may have any information about the incident, is asked to contact investigating gardaí.

Anyone with camera footage – including mobile phone and dash-cam footage – is asked to make it available.

Investigations are ongoing.
