The front page of the Mirror described Starmer's opponents as "rebels".

Front pages of the UK newspapers today are brutal for Keir Starmer

Four government aides quit their posts, citing a loss of confidence in Starmer, while others called for him to set out a timetable for his departure from No 10.

KEIR STARMER WAS asked to ‘consider his position’ last night, after he held a press conference as a last-ditch attempt to win back his party.

The British prime minister’s leadership has been in question for some time but, after a poor show at last week’s local elections, key figures at his top table directly urged him to step down.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is said to have privately called for an orderly transition of power on Monday night as 75 out of Labour’s 403 MPs demanded a change.

Four government aides quit their posts, citing a loss of confidence in his leadership, while others warned his authority was collapsing and called for him to set out a timetable for his departure from No 10.

Here’s how some of the UK newspapers are covering the UK’s political turmoil.

The Sun said Starmer is “on the brink” of losing his position. However, the paper reports that his potential replacements have yet to openly joined the mutiny.
