EXTRA TRAINS PUT on for the All-Ireland semi-finals this weekend have all sold out.

Irish Rail announced the regular and additional Mayo, Louth and Kerry trains put on for the sporting weekend have been totally booked out – as the matches, Dermot Kennedy Aviva gigs and warm weather “combine for one of the busiest weekends of the summer”.

Mayo will play Louth in Croke Park on Saturday, and Kerry will play Dublin on Sunday.

Tens of thousands of supporters are expected to stream up to the capital over the weekend, many by public transport.

Anyone travelling on intercity trains this weekend have been encouraged to arrive early, as there is high demand for the services (and we’ve all had to ask someone to move out of our seat).

Open return tickets will not be accepted for travel, Irish Rail said, and ticket holders must travel on their booked train.

“Please remember that alcohol is not permitted on board, and will be confiscated both at stations prior to travel, and at return stations also,” it added.

Extra Dart and commuter services will also operate for the Dermot Kennedy concerts and the semi-finals.

As part of Aviva Stadium event crowd management measures, Grand Canal Dock Station will be closed at the end of the Dermot Kennedy concerts from 10pm on both nights.
