Today is the last day to register to vote in the by-elections

The by-elections for Galway West and Dublin Central will be held on 22 May.

TODAY IS THE final day for people to register to vote online in the forthcoming by-elections in Galway West and Dublin Central.

Both by-elections will be held on 22 May.

Every person who is an Irish or British citizen who is at least 18 years old and is ordinarily resident and included in the register of electors for the Dáil Dublin Central constituency is entitled to vote at the Dublin Central by-election.

The same applies for those included in the register of electors for the Dáil Galway West constituency, who are entitled to vote at the Galway West by-election on 22 May 2026.

If you have not previously registered to vote, you can do so here.

If you are already registered to vote but have changed address, either moving to a different local electoral area or a different property within the same area, you must note your change of address with the Electoral Commission.

You can also check your details here to ensure everything is accurate.

The process takes only a few minutes.

The two by-elections will fill the vacated seats of President Catherine Connolly and former TD Paschal Donohoe.
