Cameron to follow Queen on Irish visit next week

David Cameron will visit Ireland next Wednesday, meeting Enda Kenny and attending the Queen’s Conference Centre bash.

THE TAOISEACH Enda Kenny has confirmed this evening that British prime minister David Cameron will visit Ireland for a bilateral meeting next week.

Cameron’s visit is to coincide with the visit of Queen Elizabeth, who will visit Ireland between Tuesday and Friday of next week.

The visit is particularly timed to coincide with the event being hosted by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh at the National Convention Centre, due to be held on Thursday 19 May.

Cameron is also set to attend that event, which will include performances from Mary Byrne, Westlife and the Chieftains as well as a fashion show featuring designs by John Rocha and Victoria Beckham.

No indication has been given as yet as to the agenda of the bilateral meeting. The Queen will not be present at the meeting, having scheduled a visit to the National Stud in Kildare for that day.
