Four arrested after €4.4m of cannabis seized

The seizure was made as part of an intelligence led operation.

FOUR MEN IN their 30s have been arrested after gardaí and Revenue officers seized 220kgs of cannabis yesterday.

The cannabis has an estimated value of €4.4m.

The seizure was made as part of an intelligence led operation. A further 10.5kgs of cannabis and €10,000 in cash was seized by gardaí during follow-up searches in South Dublin and Co Kildare.

The four men were arrested and are currently detained in garda stations in Dublin and Kildare under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Investigations remain ongoing.
