Woman (59) dies in two-car crash in west Kerry

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A WOMAN HAS died in a two-car crash in west Kerry.

The 59-year-old was fatally injured when the car she was a passenger in collided with another vehicle.

The incident occurred yesterday at 6.30pm in Ballynane, Annascaul.

The driver, a 58-year-old woman, along with the driver of the other car, a 39-year-old man, were taken to Kerry General Hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Dingle Garda Station on 066 9153850, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Elsewhere in the country, there were two fatal crashes in Louth in the space of 24 hours.

A 39-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision with a tractor outside Drogheda, while a woman in her 20s died in a crash in Castlebellingham.
