Motorcyclist killed after bike and tractor collide outside Drogheda

The crash happened on the Ballymakenny Road.

GARDAÍ HAVE CONFIRMED this evening that a 39-year-old man has died after a crash between his motorcycle and a tractor just outside Drogheda.

The crash happened at 5.40 pm this evening at Tullyard on the the Ballymakenny Road, about 4km outside Drogheda.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene of the accident and road diversions were put in place.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

This evening’s incident brings to 133 the number of people killed on the roads in Ireland so far this year.
